Miss 14 has to take German food tomorrow for a shared lunch with her German class. Me: "Shall I make a Black Forest Gateau?"
Miss 14: Nah, that's too fancy."
God forbid we should make something fancy!

Julie Biuso (Kiwi/Italian cook) came to the rescue with her German Apple cake recipe which is in the oven as we speak. It smells fancy!
