Can't have Cait taking all the glory - here's a photo of my 5 years old - Elliot (and a little blue penguin). They are both too cute for their own good.

Elliot adores his big sister, Caitlin. "I am Elli-boy and there is my Caity-girl" he said recently. I really need to scrap a page about that!

This photo was taken at Marineland during the recent school holidays. He had a great holiday - feeding the dolphins and handling turtles and crabs and a blue tongued lizard. Unlike Cait who is far more squeamish and(apart from feeding the dolphins) declined all other close and personal encounters!

"Click, click"
OK I'm a scrapper, scrap artist, scrapbooker - whatever. If you scrap you take photos - they kinda go hand in hand. So I figured that my photos weren't really that great. Just snaps. So I took a class on digital photography. I thought it would be all mumsy and basic but it was taken by 2 photojournalists and was it good. I now know how to use my camera (AUTO is a dirty word!) and I think my photos are better. I'm also trying to develop my own style - crystal clear isn't always how I like it. I love this photo which is a series of some I took of Caitlin. I love that they are slightly over-exposed and grainy.

OK - this is my firstever attempt at blogging. I called my blog 'eMpTy page ' 'cos that's what you're faced with when you sit at the computer. It kind of throws up all sorts of possibilities - how to fill that empty page. Or do you need to?

I love all sorts of craft work (but scrapbooking is tops) and I've always used a little logo on my cards and painted pots and whatever the latest craft fad is. The logo is always eMpTy something like "eMpTy cards" or "eMpTy pots" or whatever. My initials are MT - get it?

I read an article in the paper today about Oscar award-winning composer Tan Dun (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). He's really into tea (as I am) and when in China visited a Chinese nun for a tea ceremony. Instead of inviting him for tea she produced empty cups. "We were so surprised but she said "Tea is in your mind" The colour, the meaning of everything is in your mind. If you have things in your mind your bowl is full, if your mind is empty, the bowl is empty".
