GO THE ABs

We were there. At Westpac Stadium last night to see the All Blacks thrash France 61-10. OK it was a hiding but I enjoyed it. I've been to The Stadium lots of time for rugby matches. But it was the first time I'd ever seen the ABs play. I enjoyed it. But what I enjoyed most was seeing the girls from Chilton Saint James school (a local private girls school) sing the national anthems of both teams. They sang it like anthems should be sung. As a sing-a-long. So that everyone could join in. And that's what amazed me most. Everyone did. Sing. Kiwis never used to. Are we growing up?

(And the choir's conductor was none other than Ella Hanify who used to be my music teacher when I was at college. 25 years ago. I don't think I realised in those days. That she's not old. She's only a few years older than me.)

I don't normally follow rugby, but I was out last night, and the game was on, and I kinda got involved, looked to be a good game from what I could see. Isn't it funny about assumptions we make about ages, I refuse to guess anyones age now, I have been caught out so badly that I refuse to offend again!

Glad you enjoyed the rugby Mel. Must be amazing being there. I remember when I was young, thinking the 'over 35's section' at the dancing competitions was all old people!!! 35 is sooo young!! Did you grow up in Wellington? I (am older than you btw) did and I went to Wellington High School!!

Cool. What fun to *be there*!!
And too funny about how our perception of age changes as we *age*.

That would've been fun to be there experiencing the whole atmosphere!

LOL about the age thing... I used to thing 60 was quite old until my parents reached that age bracket.

The choir sure was beautiful. We all commented on the AB's singing along.
My max(4 and half) makes us laugh because he calls it his song and stands in front of the TV with his hand on his heart and sings his little heart out.

Hi Mel

Just wanted to say thanks for your comment on my blog the other day. I can see the closet writer in you through your posts on here. I love your blog - your creativity shines through!

Sorry not qualified to comment on the rugby - being a Victorian girl I'm an AFL supporter!

I had heard the girls were singing, my road trip mate up to Hamilton Fi was telling me about it. I loved seeing the ABs play at the stadium. Funny how our perceptions change as we get older about age.
