SPREADING OUT YOUR BIRTHDAY

I love it when my birthday treats get spread out over a couple of weeks.

Last night D and I had our weekend away in Wellington including dinner at the wonderful Dockside restaurant. Gorgeous food. I can highly recommend the amazing Dutch Cocoa Self Saucing Pudding - to die for.
Nothing like a winter escape to your own hometown.

And... thanks to Lisa for the heads up on a great new book by author Sam Hayes. Blood Ties.

Here's the blurb: January 1992. A baby girl is left alone for a moment. Long enough for a mother to dash into a shop. Long enough for a child to be taken.Thirteen years later, solicitor Robert Knight is delighted his stepdaughter has won a place at a prestigious London school for the gifted. The only puzzle is his wife Erin's reaction. Why is she so reluctant to let Ruby go? Doesn't she want what's best for her daughter? As Erin grows more evasive, Robert can't help but feel that she has something to hide. And when he stumbles on mysterious letters, he discovers Erin has been lying to him. Somewhere in his wife's past lies a secret; a secret that threatens to destroy everything...

Like, Lisa, I couldn't put it down.

mmm... pud!

book sounds good - might have to read it when kids are a bit older tho' because I can't handle some 'kid related' stuff right now. Gives me nightmares. :)
