SEASONS

It's spring and it's sunny. Aren't mornings like this great? I love the change of seasons. Spring bulbs in bloom. Lighter mornings. It's so easy to see why people clean out their houses in the spring, or start exercise programmes, or just feel better.

But, to be honest, despite my love of the sun and warmth my favourite season is actually winter. I love how we hibernate in winter. We draw the curtains early. I feed the kids early. We make comfort food. Our house is our little cave.

What season do you like the best?

Summer and autumn I think are my favourites. I don't dislike winter but sometimes it seems to drag on and on. Spring is nice for the promise it brings, but I can't say I enjoy the wind that often comes with it!

But each season has something to recommend it somewhere.

I think it is summer for me, I thrive in the warmth and being outside doing nothing. Each season really does have its merits, I know last year when we missed winter completely I was lost without the opportunity to wear my snuggly warm clothes and eat the casseroles etc.

Summer for me.....ice blocks, BBQ's, daylight savings, freshly mown grass.

I like summer for it's warmth, long evenings and lighter clothes. I don't like it coz it means togs (aaargh), sweaty nights (can't figure how any children are born in August/Sept/Oct- ?sex in that heat), and now it means (for our family)the anniversary of Olly's death and Christmas with one missing. I like winter for snuggling up in the evenings and baggy comfort clothes but wish sometimes our house wasn't so cold.

Spring my absoulute favourite. Although since moving to Whakatane have to say I love most seasons the weather here is the best. Not mentioning floods of course.

I'm with you on the whole cave thing - love to hibernate in winter.

I can't decide ... summer for the water sports and drying off in the sun ... autumn for the colours in the garden and wider landscape ... winter for dark cozy nights ... and spring for the promise.
