THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS...

Mr 9 has 2 and a half days of school left but this morning he decided he felt dizzy and needed to stay home.

After an hour or so I asked him if he was still dizzy or sick or did he just want a day off school? I told him it didn’t matter what the answer was I just needed the truth. He said he wasn’t really feeling dizzy anymore and just wanted to stay home today. I explained to him about mental health days and how maybe once a year it's OK to have one of these.

So I let Mr 9 stay home because I am a good Mummy and because all his school books came home yesterday so no work's actually happening at school today and they will probably just be watching a DVD this afternoon at school.

But mostly I let him stay home because you won’t get into trouble in our house if you tell the truth.

Honesty and truth with kindness and mercy is always the best policy. :)

Great way to handle it - end of year can be stressful for them for lots of reasons. Hope he is OK :)

That's the rule here too - you may get punished for the deed and I may get very cross with you but not as cross or as big a punishment if you lie
